WHY SANMEI

A Thermal Spray Supplier Built for the Long Term

Sanmei manufactures thermal spray gun bodies, form-fit-function replacement consumables, and complete Plasma and HVOF equipment. This page sets out what we make in-house, how a replacement part is confirmed before it enters your production, and how one qualified item can grow into multi-model supply.

REPLACEMENT CAPABILITY

Replacement Parts That Behave Like the Part They Replace

A replacement component earns its place only when it installs without modification, runs at the same parameters, and holds that behaviour across repeat batches. Confirming this comes before any order is released.

Form, Fit and Function

Components are produced to the reference geometry of the original part: mounting interfaces, threads, bore and taper, gas and powder passages. The objective is a direct swap in the existing torch or gun body, not an adaptation your operators have to work around.

Compatibility Confirmation

Send a part number, technical drawing, clear photograph, or physical sample. We identify the reference, confirm what can be supplied against it, and state plainly where a dimension or material cannot be matched.

Consistency Across Batches

Once a part is qualified, its drawing revision, material specification, and inspection criteria are fixed. Repeat orders are produced against that record, so the component you approved is the component you receive next time.

References That Start a Review

Any one of these is enough to open a technical review. Sent together, they shorten the confirmation.

  • OEM part number or cross-reference
  • Gun model and variant
  • Technical drawing or physical sample
  • Process and operating parameters
PRECISION MANUFACTURING

Precision Is the Product, Not the Promise

The service life of a plasma or HVOF component is decided by geometry and surface quality. We machine the parts that carry that load ourselves and measure them against the reference before they leave the shop.

  • Gun Bodies and Housings

Turning, milling, and boring of the body geometry, mounting interfaces, and threaded junctions that position the torch.

  • Electrodes and Cathodes

Copper and tungsten-copper components machined and finished for stable arc behaviour under continuous load.

  • Nozzles, Air Caps and Injectors

Gas and powder passages machined to the drawing, with internal surfaces finished to resist powder adhesion.

  • Chambers and Barrels

HVOF combustion chambers and barrels manufactured and inspected as controlled parts of the delivered assembly.

Variants

Internal Bore and Extended

Compact and extended configurations for internal diameter spraying, deep cavities, and restricted access work.

Coverage of common thermal spray gun models and their consumable component families

Coverage for a specific model and variant is confirmed item by item against your part number, drawing, or sample before it is quoted.

SELECTED COMPONENTS

A Selected Range, Maintained in Depth

Rather than publishing an unmanageable catalogue, we keep depth in the consumables and components that decide torch behaviour, coating repeatability, and unplanned downtime.

Electrodes and Cathodes

Copper and tungsten-copper electrodes produced for stable arc starting and predictable wear in continuous plasma duty.

Nozzles and Air Caps

Gas passages machined to the reference profile to keep flow, velocity, and spray pattern within the established parameters.

Powder Injectors

Feed and injection components finished for consistent powder delivery without buildup at the port.

Combustion Chambers and Barrels

HVOF pressure-bearing components manufactured and inspected as part of the delivered assembly.

Insulators and Seals

High-wear insulating and sealing parts that protect alignment, gas tightness, and electrical isolation.

Machined Fittings and Adapters

Non-catalogue machined items, including adapters and interfaces for older or modified torch setups.

If a component is not part of the maintained range, it can still be reviewed as a development item against your drawing or sample.

DEVELOPMENT CAPABILITY

New Models Developed From Your Drawing or Sample

A part that does not exist in anyone's catalogue can still be manufactured. Send the drawing or the worn original and we will work from the geometry it carries.

  1. 01

    Reference Intake

Drawing, sample, photograph, or part number is logged with the gun model it belongs to.

  2. 02

    Technical Review and Match Report

Dimensions, material, and surface requirements are checked against the reference, and any open point is raised before manufacturing.

  3. 03

    Prototype Manufacture

A first article is machined in-house, measured, and recorded against the agreed drawing revision.

  4. 04

    Validation in Your Process

The prototype is run under your operating parameters so fit, ignition, and coating behaviour can be judged on the machine.

  5. 05

    Release to Repeat Supply

Once accepted, the drawing, material specification, and inspection criteria are frozen for series production.

QUALITY CONTROL

Inspection, Records, and Release

Every production batch passes the same sequence, and nothing is released until the inspection step for that batch is closed and recorded.

INCOMING

Material Verification

Raw material arrives against a specification and is checked before it enters machining.

IN PROCESS

Dimensional Control

Critical geometry is measured during machining rather than discovered at the end of the batch.

BATCH

Final Inspection

Finished parts are checked against the drawing, including the internal surfaces that govern flow and buildup.

RELEASE

Recorded Sign-Off

The batch record is closed and the goods are released for packing and dispatch.

RESPONSE AND SERVICE

Short Paths to an Engineering Answer

Technical questions are answered by the people who review the drawings, and order quantities are set by what you actually consume rather than by a fixed minimum.

Engineering Support

Compatibility, material, and geometry questions go to the technical team directly, so answers arrive with a drawing reference rather than a general reply.

Flexible Batch Sizes

Evaluation quantities for a first trial and scheduled repeat volumes for production use are both produced on the same equipment and criteria.

Order Handling

Single items and mixed requirements covering several gun models can be combined in one order and one shipment.

Continuity of Supply

Qualified parts remain in the maintained range, which is what makes a second source useful over several years rather than one order.

Delivery schedules are quoted per order and confirmed against your required date and order quantity.

EQUIPMENT CAPABILITY

Plasma and HVOF Equipment, Not Only Consumables

The same manufacturing base that produces replacement parts also builds complete coating systems, so gun, consumable, and equipment questions are handled in one place.

PLASMA

Plasma Spray Systems

  • Power supply and control cabinet with application-specific parameters
  • Gas mixing and flow control sub-assemblies
  • Powder feeding and delivery components
  • Torch and gun integration, including internal-bore configurations
  • Parameter setup and operator familiarisation during commissioning
HVOF

HVOF Spray Systems

  • Combustion and fuel delivery assemblies built around the selected gun platform
  • Control cabinet and process parameter management
  • Barrel, nozzle, and gun assembly supplied as matched components
  • Powder feed and injection set-up for carbide and metallic coatings
  • Commissioning and coating trials before handover

Core subsystems are manufactured in-house and combined with established instrumentation, so a system can be specified around the workpiece, the coating, and the throughput you need.

Manufacturing Capability
LONG-TERM SUPPLY

One Verified Part Becomes a Multi-Model Supply Position

Buyers rarely start with a full programme. They start with a single component that has to prove itself, and the relationship grows from there on evidence rather than on promises.

  1. 01

    One Part Qualified

A single consumable is matched, produced, and run on your machine until it is accepted.

  2. 02

    Same Platform, More Items

Neighbouring parts on that gun model are added using the same verified reference data.

  3. 03

    Complete Consumable Set

The full set for that torch, from electrodes and nozzles to seals and fittings, is supplied as one package.

  4. 04

    Additional Gun Models

Coverage extends to the other platforms in your shop, so purchasing keeps one technical record for several models.

  5. 05

    Equipment and Spares

Where it makes sense, the same relationship covers complete Plasma or HVOF systems and their spare parts.

Each step reuses the qualified drawing revision and material specification from the step before it, which is what keeps a growing scope from becoming a growing risk.
